Specifically, it would appear to be a Tactical Air Command A-7D.
I agree on the aircraft. Specifically, it is probably a Ling-Temco-Vought A-7D Corsair II. I say that because the pilot appears to be part of the US Air Force Tactical Air Command, judging from the partially-visible patch on his chest. (See a 1970s-vintage TAC patch here for comparison: http://www.flyingtigerantiques.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=fta&Product_Code=z99afsq90001tac&Category_Code=03afsq8) Per Wikipedia, the Tactical Air Command flew A-7Ds and A-7Ks, and the latter was in prototype form in 1981, so it must therefore be an A-7D.
