| In Hinduism, sadhu is a common term for an ascetic or practitioner of yoga (yogi) who has given up pursuit of the first three Hindu goals of life: kama (enjoyment), artha (practical objectives) and even dharma (duty). The sadhu is solely dedicated to achieving moksha (liberation) through meditation and contemplation of God. Sadhus often wear ochre-colored clothing, symbolizing renunciation. 'Sadhu!' is also a Sanskrit term used as an exclamation for something novel. | Zackary Joyner | Charlotte,NC | Login to vote | |

| This is a sadhu in Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal. Pashupatinath is the temple of the hindu God Shiva. Shiva grows long dreads, smokes weed, gives up materalistic life and meditates. The sadhu's following the same path as his lord. | Abe | San Jose, CA | Login to vote | |
Paramhansa Sri Ram Krishna Das This, for a fact, is Paramhansa Sri Ram Krishna Das. This shot is near his former kuti (humble living quarters) in Pashupatinath, Nepal. He is the Dudhadhari Baba (Sanskrit for Milk Baba) who gained this name after austerity of taking milk as his only food for thirty years. He subsequently traveled the world, initiating disciples in the path of Ramanandi Sampradaya, evidenced by his traditional tilaka (forehead marking). Milk Baba is on Facebook (I am administrator) and is developing a temple in the hills of Nepal. He is known for his bhajan (sacred songs) which he sings while playing harmonium, as well as his scholarship of Vedic texts, with extensive memorizations, including the Bhagadvad Gita, Ramayana, and others. He is known for his sweetness, kindness, and openness in sharing wisdom with everyone he meets. | marcemoglen | San Francisco, CA | Login to vote |
