Commodore Vanderbilt steam engine on New York Central System railroad, 1930s This was the Commodore Vanderbilt steam engine (JIE Hudson 5344) on the New York Central System railroad. It was the world's first streamlined locomotive (1934) and it ran between Toledo and Chigago.
